Nick Woodbury is a San Francisco based audio producer, sound designer, composer, and musician. Woodbury has a masters degree in contemporary music from SUNY Stony Brook (2010), where he studied composition and performance. He has designed live sound for chamber ensembles including the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, and Mantra Percussion. Woodbury’s compositions have been featured in music license libraries, as film soundtracks, and in advertisements. He works with clients in diverse fields, from podcasting, to advertising, producing and recording audio content, designing sound, and creating musical content.
As a musician (percussionist), Nick Woodbury is on the faculty at the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, and performs regularly with Mantra Percussion, Empyrean Ensemble, Opera Parallèle, and the Eco Ensemble. He has premiered new works by George Crumb, John Luther Adams, and Michael Gordon. His recordings have been remixed by Squarepusher, Tim Hecker, and Oneohtrix Point Never. He has appeared at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Lincoln Center, Apple Store, Bang on a Can Marathon, Cal Performances, Vancouver New Music, Drogheda Festival of Ireland, Festival Internacional de Inverno de Campos do Jordão of Brazil, and on NPR.
